@Crazy Cat yes I understand, however i know people who had the same situation as i did but did not receive a white form stating their rights in america, and i know others who received everything like me but the Visa Officer requested more additional documents. Does this my case different from the others making it take less time?

The case is in extended administrative processing.  Nothing can be done...other than waiting it out for a decision.   The Department of State is conducting background checks....

Is the visa Officer supposed to hand back your original documents after the interview or do they only hand back if the visa is refused?

They are not required to return anything to you.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

What do you mean by they are not required to return anything back, so if they kept the documents that is a good sign?

It is neither good nor bad.  The ONLY indication of approval will be when the status changes to "Issued".

They hand you back the originals of the civil documents you submitted to them and they keep the copies and translations.

As @Crazy Catstated, "Issued" is what matters and nothing else does

@etrangais no they handed it back as well.

in that case, get ready for a lengthy AP.

There is nothing you can do about it. So just be patient and wait

Every case is different, so even if you see some applicants clear AP fast, or slow, don't expect the same length. Every case is different

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

We recd our originals after the interview

as for copies,  USCIS has all those / copies u sent or scanned and all are kept and logged into computer

AP can be long

if spouse was given the "rights and responsibilities " welcome to US phamlet,  the CO intent is to approve but extra security checks are required

as crazy cat says "only the post that says "issued or denied "   is important

if spouse now uses the passport to do additional international travel of any kind ,  it will extend the AP time to check that travel also

if the AP goes past 6 months from his medical,  the embassy will send a request to do a new medical exam

As i said before your fiancee's name triggered  DOS and it could have been because it was the same as another being from a country that overuses the name

@JeanneAdil thank you so much, that gave me hope. Because we were confident that our case will be approved because we know everything we have uploaded and sent to the USCIS AND NVC are correct and not fraud and based on facts. Yes, we did receive the US phamlet, and the CO just told us that everything on their end is good just to wait for the DOS in Washington dc. So im hoping for a less timeframe to wait. God bless you.

My case status still says Refused but the date has changed. Is there any luck that maybe they might ask for my passport so they could stamp the visa before changing the Case status to Administrative Processing then to issued?
