Some have reported that after filing I-129F, the pending I-130 gets approved.

Fewer than 10 K-3 visas are approved each year.

If a K-3 visa interview  happens it happens in consulate assigned to the physical address listed  in the I-129F.

Some have stated here that their I-130 was approve quicker than normal when they filed the K-3.  I took a look at the timelines a while ago and there wasn't proof of this.  Some got their I-130 approved faster than average, many were approved at around average, and some took longer.  Very similar to looking at any subset of data of those that did not file the K-3.

Fist point is correct.  Second point is not necessarily correct.  K3 visa interviews MUST occur in the country where the marriage took place.

ALL visa interviews for US visas happen outside the USA.

Don't expect ANY K3 visa interview though.  Rare as hen's teeth.  If you file the petition to initiate a K3 visa process, it's possible your I-130 for spouse will be approved faster and I've seen no evidence it will do any harm.

Thanks for the correction. My first reaction was it must be difficult when marriage takes place in a country that:

* no longer exists

* doesn’t have a U.S. embassy or consulate

* happens to be in the USA

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-spouse-k-3.html discusses that secretion

And a correction to your correction is that K-3 interviews for marriages that took place outside the USA are generally in the country where the marriage took place.

Correct for marriages outside the US.  If not in country of marriage, it's the Consulate assigned to the country of marriage.  Moot as K3 visas have been virtually obsolete for a dozen years.

No harm in applying for a K-3.  No additional fees nowadays IIRC.

At best, it may speed up your I-130, or you may actually get one (rare, but theoretically possible)

At worst, you just spend an hour or so filling out a form.

Minimal risk, so why not.
