the 751 is just a re hash of the 485 with more pictures and updated month to month personal info.  They can get the file with a key stroke on spot.

Wrong. The IO would need the actual i751 package that you sent to uscis to be able to process that. Your i751 package could be lying in a Service Center 800 miles far from the IO's desk. The IO is not at fault. You can blame uscis though for not combining i751 with N400.

Ok well we are all friends here but I disagree I know they can get it on the spot (on their PC it’s just a scanned Doc) and I also had a copy plus my immigration lawyer friend has seen this in person!

i digress we like many others are at their mercy but pay our TAXES so they get a salary.

USCIS is completely funded by the application fees, like the post office is from the sale of stamps and postage. Your taxes do not fund their salary's.

Is USCIS federally funded?

Unlike most other agencies, USCIS is “fee-funded,” meaning that its funding comes primarily from fees charged to those applying for immigration or naturalization benefits, not taxpayers.Apr 8, 2022

The problem was and sorry if I wasn’t clear or didn’t state it, he didn’t want to answer our questions, in fact I was even allowed to sit down in his office just stand outside his doorway…he was rushing us out. Everyone of us deserve a chance to speak about our case….how could you defend that? It’s not my fault immigration is busy or whatever else excuse they give us.

You stated he was only allowed 20 minutes for each interview. How is this his fault? Why are you blaming him when he has absolutely no control over how much time he's given for interviews? I know you're frustrated but you're taking it out on the wrong person. Seriously. Where you work aren't you at the mercy of your supervisors? I know I am. It's no different for this guy.

News to me that spouses are allowed to attend an N400 interview.

Sounds like the IO was being nice to you by letting you stick around.

At the end of my husband's interview the IO came out to introduce himself to me, but I was never any part of the interview.

Your Fees Pay their Salarys

Now about the IO not taking care of Your I751. First of all what is the Status of your I751? Where is it (what service center). This IO may not be qualified to give the ok to remove the conditions. Maybe there is an issue that needs to be resolved befor it can be completed. There's an old saying. Never hire friends or family to work for you. Your lawyer friend does not sound that experienced to make statments that you have quoted him..  Its not over till its over. Your wife is not qualified for naturalization until this meaningless I751 is put to bed.

Personally, I would wait to see if there is a positive update on the N-400/I-751 in the next week or so before assuming that you've been screwed over.

The I-751s are ridiculous and are basically pointless, but at this point you don't actually know if your wife will have to keep waiting awhile longer or not.

On the flipside, there are also people who have had both approved but have been waiting for an oath appointment for months.

The whole system is flawed and broken, unfortunately...

Welcome to the efficiency of the US government. This is standard fare in any dealings with the US government, My wife was so excited to be able to come here to the US because money grows on trees, and you get a free white house with a picket fence for free when you live here. Well, she has been here over 3 years now, and is more fed-up with this country than I am ( Hard to believe as I have almost 50 years here). We file the N400 this November, but the way things are going we may not be living here long enough to even make the interview. She used to think I was nuts for wanting to live in her country, and I warned her before we began this journey, but now we are definitely on the same side. Want to know what really pisses me off, they jacked up the price to renounce your citizenship. was around 400, and I was ready to pay, now it's 2400 and takes over a year or longer to get done. You can't even leave this country without paying and waiting.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I 751 is pointless I agree and meaningless like another member said. Really P’s me off to see other people there for the same interview with different IO’s coming out with smiles and thumbs up and staying afterward to be given the ceremony date and address.

I know this is typical of the combi interview.  It may take a couple of weeks.  It’s an administrative thing.  It’s the trade off for a year shaved off.  Just being told to wait is disappointing in the moment.
