Hello. I need your opinion. my husband is scheduled for his interview on the 19th but unfortunately his medical was put on hold because they said that he needs to due a sputum test for three days. They told me to re schedule his appointment 2-3 months from now until he is cleared from his medical. should we do that or should he still go to his interview in Manila Philippine US embassy.

please let me know.

I moved this thread to the Philippines regional forum as it applies to procedures and policies specific to USE Manila.

do not know who "they" is

but many have done the medical and tests after an interview as its hard since covid to get things done on time

opinion only:

keep the interview appointment / case will be in AP (may say refused on CEAC site while waiting)

interviews are hard to reschedule

If he has not cleared the medical (which he hasn't) you must reschedule. Just hope that the sputum test comes back as negative or it will be much longer because they will need to wait until treatment is finished.

The US embassy in Manila will not allow him to proceed with his interview if he has not completed his medical.  Once he gets to the document screening step, he will be told to leave and schedule another interview.  So it will just be a wasted trip.  Cancel his interview now, then book a new interview slot dated after the release of his medical results.

Not true for Manila, even during COVID time.  Visa applicants in Manila may only interview if they have completed their medical.  No exceptions that I know of so far.

Having been through the Sputum game 3 times I can tell you once SLEC tags you with the three day ordeal most likely the 8 week culture test follows.  Need to get this behind you before attending an interview, no physical no visa.
