Just to add on above:

I know our countrymen and how they think we're world geniuses. I was around Archives this past May 2022 and  I couldn't help listen to how they were planning someone's getaway to US.

When I did my interview back then, one of them was caught by CO with fake financial documents. They had got them at a cyber cafe down there next to KCB Kencom Stage. I know this is unrelated to you, but just trying to help a fellow and make sure you don't end up in more mess than you can deal with. But as you know, our countrymen know it all.

Anyway, carry on.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

You do understand I wasn't taking a swipe at you but merely conversing or telling you a story I know. You may have missed that.

I hope you take this in good spirit, as @Timona pointed out in one of earlier posts , the Consulate is probably a bit rougher than others because of the High Fraud Designation. I was shocked to read that they denied the already completed adoption because CO deemed grandparents better suited …

So think of this as a practice run to all sorts of possible challenges at consulate. Also , given the priority date moving so slow, fulfill the 2 year physical/legal requirements BEFORE submitting to NVC , if possible to avoid issues with exceptions RFEs and be ready for Consular scrutiny.

Her case is still far of from the NVC stage (PD June 2019, Visa bulletin currently @ Aug 2016 for filing) so i think that will probably be fulfilled. My sister has already began the adoption process and we are well aware of the timelines.

AOS wouldn't be a problem. My parents in the US and I hopefully at the time should be able to take care of that.

I totally understand that it may not be a straight forward case and one that may bring about questions from the CO at the embassy but my family/sister are more than ready to honestly and sincerely lay the facts on the table.

It seems you are aware of all the steps and the timeline.

When your sister is able to pay and submit documents at the NVC stage, she can update her family size on the DS-260.  The adopted child or any other new children do not need to have been listed in the I-130 petition.
