Hello All,

My company requires us to live in GA while my and wife lives in VA. We ended up leasing an apartment in GA (her name is also on the lease of both places) but our principal place of "residence" is still VA. Besides the tax returns and joint finances displaying our main address being in VA we also have both our ID's belonging to VA on top of mails being delivered to our VA house. Is this enough to show coliving? (If this is not enough I do have a ton of tickets showing we traveled jointly to and from VA-GA)

I also understand that we need more evidence (Photos, Joint assets,401K beneficiaries, trips together, tax returns, and such). Still, I was more concerned about the coliving as we have plenty of photos, trip tickets, joint loans, finances, and joint tax returns.

probably do

but been in this situation

and if it was me,  i would make the move

we bought a house up here in TN and the next day he was transfered to middle Ga for government work on air base

we tried the commute for 2 years as we didn't want to make the move

but we could not use apartment expenses as deduction to tax returns (IRS says u can move)

and unless wife has one hell-of a job ,  why not move

Ga is so much cheaper than Va / no big heating cost down here /no freezing ice storms

i have also lived in Fairfax County so near to DC / the expense can be a killer
