Hi everyone, my IR1 I130 got approved today and I am wondering if I understand the next steps correctly?

So now NVC will contact me within 5 weeks and I have to upload documents on their website as well?

Is there a list of documents that will be required for it so I can start prepping it? I am aware of the police certificates, tax returns of sponsor and birth certificate.

Regarding police certificates - where / when do I put my address history on or how do they verify which countries I need the certificates from?

After those documents are approved they send it to the London embassy to schedule an interview and medical exam, correct?

Is there any timeline for it anywhere, I couldn't find anything on their website?

Roughly how long can I expect it will take now before I can move?

Thank you in advance :)

On your visa application. If you need foreign police reports, you’d better get on that.

NVC assigns your interview and sends your file to London. You should have about a month’s notice in which to get the medical done before the interview. Check what you will need to take to the medical and start working on that. Scroll down and read this whole page https://visamedicals.co.uk/united-states/

Thank you both!

My main question actually is that I realized that I made a mistake on the original address history on the I-130A, as I was physically somewhere else.

That mistake would put me over the one-year threshold in that country (Singapore) but technically I was there for less than a year as I was travelling around various places.

Will I have an opportunity to correct that on the DS-260 and avoid having to provide a police certificate for Singapore? They're notoriously difficult to obtain.

Thank you.

Yes but can you provide evidence you were there less than a year?

You need to put in every address you lived in from the age of 16.

When you were traveling around the world were you based in Singapore or somewhere else?

NVC appears to flag any country you lived in for over 6 months. So, after you submit your DS260 you'll probably be asked to submit police certificates from Singapore.

I think most users write a statement explaining they lived in the country for under a year and do not have to submit the PCC and that is usually sufficient.

I was travelling, around the US actually, but legally based at my parents house in Austria, as it was summer break during university.

Thank you for your answer! Is it worth submitting the statement directly with the first batch of documents?

I want to avoid getting RFE'd at NVC, I'd rather get DQ'ed first time around, as if possible I'd like to go to the US for Christmas to spend it with my wife's family.

Hi so I just submitted my DS260 and my documents.

It did show under civil documents "required" "Police Certificate (Singapore)".

Is it correct that I uploaded into that the affidavit that I did not stay in Singapore for more than 12 months, with the evidence to support it?

Thank you.
