Question about filing N400 with Pending I751

Any experience here where someone has filed N400 while 751 is pending, and 751 got approved, i.e. no combo interview. Or does applying for N400 while 751 pending always results in a N400 interview.

The reason i'm asking is that I'm in NYC and I know that after I apply for N400, the I751 will be moved here. The processing time for N400 in NYC is around 16 months. So applying for N400 will mean that for the next 16 months my 751 won't be approved as well, and the extension letter will expire too. So I'm thinking maybe if I wait for a few more months, my 751 would be approved (EAC, filed in July 2021) so at least I'll have a permanent green card and not be in limbo getting a stamp/traveling with extension letter/difficulty with license renewal etc.

Wanted to see what everyone thought.

There were a few people on the LIN updates thread who got their I-751s approved shortly after putting in their N-400, so I don't think they are necessarily related.

Sure, here you go. It's a long thread, but the last 4-5 pages have a couple of people giving updates on their I think the person I was thinking of specifically was @elmers.

Please can you share this thread?

@AffableAndy Thanks but I do not think my RoC was approved because of N400 as it happened within a very short window of applying N400. I do not know for sure though however.

Right, just saying that your I-751 was approved while you had a pending N-400, ie they will not hold up ROC until you get a naturalization interview.

As a fellow MSP applicant, your timeline gives me some hope that things will move at a slightly faster pace!
