Also in Additional Evidence (particularly in my case - if you read the thread above from July 2022)

Any suggestion/recommendation on what kind of documents I could submit online for my N-400 application?

What evidence do you have so far?

1. Proof of US ties/residence : IRS tax transcripts, State ID like Drivers License, Bank Statement, Residential lease document?

2. Proof of Travel Records: Flight ticket confirmation documents, Passport pages showing departure / arrival stamps?

Should I upload these online with N-400 ?

Please advise if you can think of any other documents/records that would be beneficial to submit with N-400. Thank you.

I wouldn’t bother uploading the travel records.

Do you have evidence you lived in your state of residence for the 3 months prior to your filing of N-400?

You need to include  your green card.

Was your  gc employer  based, family based, or other?

Yes green card already uploaded. GC is family based.

Was the petitioner a U.S. citizen at the time you were approved to be an LPR or refrigerator an immigration visa?

What about the other documents I mentioned - IRS tax transcripts, State ID like Drivers License, Bank Statement? Should I upload these?

I focused on the stuff that was missing  and on the stuff you should not send. Yes all those things should be uploaded as they are evidence of continuous residency

Petitioner was GC holder when applied for me, and also when I was approved .

You should submit a copy of the petitioner’s gc. If not available, a copy of the petitioner’s naturalization certificate

In your case no need to wait 180 days to travel  after filing N-400. However,

* if on the day you travel you’ve been back N days (as of July 6, N is currently 50 days), your maximum absence should be N-1 days AND

* during the period after you file N-400 you need to be inside the USA for more days than outside USA

You’ve traveled a lot in the past 5 years. Do you have 5 years of IRS tax transcripts?

Hi Mike!

Hope you are doing well :) I am back to reconfirm I understood the above correctly, as I am most likely to travel out of USA again in December (mid).

1. I went out of the USA in first week of October for 5-6 days and re-entered the USA on 7th October. If my date of travel out of USA is 15th December, then N-1 would be [(15th Dec - 7th October) - 1 ] = 69 - 1 = 68 days is the maximum absence allowed ----

2. If I filed for N-400 on November 25th, getting confused about the time frame to be considered "during the period". Can you pls clarify this further? thank you so much.

Rather than dealing with hypotheticals, I suggest you complete your timeline:

1. My most recent travel out of USA was in first week of October 2022, and I entered back into USA on 7th October 2022

2. My N-400 will be submitted online on December 1st 2022

3. I will travel outside of USA again on December 15th 2022.

I am trying to calculate what is my maximum absence allowed so I maker sure to return before then? Per your two conditions:

1. N-1 = 69 -1 = 68

2. What is constituting "during the period" after N-400 is filed? Thanks again Mike

I did. And shared with you. Thanks.

It says you filed N-400 on December 1, 2022. It is still November 2022. I’m out.

Okay, no problem Mike. Have really appreciated all your help thus far, so thank you.

Yes, I have filled my N-400 application online and wanted to review it today and tomorrow before hitting submit on the drafted N-400 application online.

Due to a personal emergency, I need to make an unanticipated trip to India in December.

So was calculating my "maximum absence allowed post filing N-400" using your two conditions except now I am suddenly confused about the meaning of 2nd condition.

Anyways,  Happy December to you!:)

Best, Ambica
