They are wanting a booster too, just frustrating with time since there is time between each shot thats all.

As per CDC guidelines, only the first 2 shots of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine OR 1 shot of the Janssen vaccine is required for the visa medical.  Your husband may get the booster shot when he moves to the US.  Details here -- https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/panel-physicians/covid-19-technical-instructions.html

  • If you are a non-U.S. citizen who is a nonimmigrant (not a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or traveling to the United States on an immigrant visa), you will need to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before you travel by air to the United States from a foreign country.

there are some changes happened on the immigration visas as for the vaccine requirements I had just seen on the link bellow, they took immigration visa holders off the requirement.

To be clear -- a visa applicant is not an immigrant visa holder.  If an applicant wants to get an immigrant visa, they must be considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (or be granted a waiver) by the time of their visa medical.

Travelers with existing valid immigrant visa have never been required to be COVID vaccinated to travel to the US.  This happened to immigrant visa holders like me who completed their visa medical prior to the COVID vaccination requirement taking effect in Oct 2021.  I was not fully vaccinated when I cleared my medical in Sep 2021 nor when I traveled to the US in Nov 2021 with my immigrant visa.  (Incidentally, I got my COVID shots soon after arriving in the US.  It was not widely available in my home country at the time of my medical.)
