It has been over a year since I had my immigration medical done in Canada. I do have a copy of the vaccinations I was given during my medical... should I just get a civil surgeon to fill out an I-693A or should I just go for another medical? I am very confused!

According to the regulations (as far as I understand them) if your medical in your homecountry was more than one year ago, you need a new full medical exam when you file for AOS.

What about the vaccinations ? I had my vaccinations done in 2004 (MMR T/D, HEP B) in England before my Embassy medical and have an original doctors letter from my GP as proof. I have to do my medical again. I know it's silly question but the vaccines don't expire do they? . ie would booster shots say for tetnus be needed ?

to my understanding

MMR is a lifetime vacine

TD every 10 years

hep A+B lifetime ( not to sure but defenatly longer then 5 years )

but you will also have to have the variccella ( incase you already had the desease as a child you have to have a blood test stating your positive with variccella and dont need the vacine

As far as I know, as long as you've shown proof of taking those vaccinations, they can't force you to take them again. I'd double check with the civil surgeon at your medical, but who knows if they'll tell you to take them again just to get money from you.

We just showed proof of vaccinations by copying his vaccination record from Jamaica. Andre did not have to go through all that again.

Thanks everyone. I did have chickenpox badly when I was 3 years old. They just accepted what I said at the K1 medical. I wonder if it will be the same with the CS ? I certainly don't need a varicella vaccination. I'll have to check on that one.
