What does it matter if he was killed with one bullet or a 100? 8 officers firing with what are apparently semi automatic pistols emptied their weapons as per their training. It’s just math.

Fortunately bad optics is not a thing in our legal system.

Bad optics or intent is actually a huge part of our legal system.  The words intent, with malice, pre meditated,  etc are actually all about optics as you call them. As are hate crimes.

Body cam and street cam footage out.

APD don’t have dash cam. And the body cam doesn’t show the suspects vehicle as the body cams are

blocked by the steering wheel and dash board.

APD claims there is a muzzle flash from the suspect’s driver side. I’m not seeing it.

APD isn’t sending its best to its press conference.

If  this all the evidence APD can produce, and I am on the jury, I am voting to convict on murder any officers that both claimed muzzle flash and then fired on Walker.

The ones that didn’t see muzzle flash and trusted their colleagues I would acquit even if they fired.

The ones who saw muzzle flash and did fire I would convict on a lesser charge.

I watched the official APD release video and at 1:30 to 1:32 (minutes) into it, you can see a light flash from  Walker’s car (driver side) on the street cam.

So I am convinced that this was a good shoot, and now as a juror would acquit each officer.

There is a whole lot of jumping to conclusions way too soon. How about we wait another few days? Even the "shot 60 times" thing is not clear.

Cause it's what we do in chest. We jump out in front of an argument and keep throwing straw if the facts later don't support our argument.  I was almost guilty once myself but staying in the middle of the road keeps me safe

I will admit proof of a shot fired muddied the water. They also found the shell casing btw.

I still have a problem with cops pumping rounds into a lifeless body. I also think it's important to note he was unarmed.  Although unarmed at the time , he had fired a shot.

It also appears that cops were shooting with other cops slightly in front and to their flanks. Not safe and I assure you cops don't expend 10s of 1000s of rounds in live fire like special military operators.

Bad optics is not intent.

Walker fired a weapon froM his  vehicle during pursuit.  Police had no way of knowing that a suspect wearing a ski mask fleeing his vehicle wasn’t still armed.

Each officer fired an average of 11-12 times to stop the suspect.

Here is what happens when an officer fails to keep firing until the suspect is down and stays down:

Cite the court decision that says the number of shots matter.

The police  had no way of knowing that he was unarmed,  given they knew that during the vehicle pursuit he was armed and dangerous.

Tennessee v. Garner, 471 U.S. 1 (1985), is a civil case in which the Supreme Court of the United Statesheld that, under the Fourth Amendment, when a law enforcement officer is pursuing a fleeing suspect, the officer may not use deadly force to prevent escape unless "the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others."[1]

Each officer shot 11-12 times. I’ve seen plenty of officer shoot videos. Mostly they shoot at least 4 times IMO.  This video from 2 weeks ago:

I count 6 shots.  And the officer wasn’t even aware of this suspect because he was doing a traffic stop and a yahoo drives up, exits the vehicle with a weapon. Luckily the NPDO had been taught swivel mode in the academy and so he lived.

Had the threat been from the driver of car the NPDO had stopped, I expect 10 shots at least.

An American police officer fires a weapon for the sole purpose of neutralizing a threat.  And neutralizing means putting the threat on the ground. Death not required but it is an acceptable outcome. This is the American Way, and with the 2nd amendment so strong now, it’s the only viable way to be a police officer here.

Walker had several opportunities to avoid being killed.  Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

I for one will not mourn his passing.

Considering all the bad press the police are getting leading to ambushing, etc., I think this looks pretty cut and dry.  Shots fired at them from a car, fleeing suspect that certainly could still have been armed, they don’t aim for the legs.

I'd say the opposite. As more evidences and videos came poured in, it got revealed he didn't abide by his training. A cop following his training doesn't get 22.5 yrs in state sentence and 20-25 years in federal sentence.

Even if he was armed while running away, shooting him when he turns toward cops may be justified but 90 shots and 60 on target just proves the cops were shooting for fun rather than to save themselves or others.

pray tell, how did you arrive at that conclusion?
