my wife went to lister labs for blood samples, xrays, etc on monday

on tuesday, she went to one of the doctors that have been approved by the Consulate General Dr. N. Vijayalaksmi.

she said that my wife doesnt need any vaccination?? and she wrote the same in her report.

i thought that she would be given some by default vaccinations?? is it not?

any info on this regard would be greatful

Vaccinations are not required for "K" visas.. They are suggested or reccomended but not required.

Yes we had Dr. Sanjan John in Chennai and he refused to give the vaccinations, he said it was the “rules” of the Consulate that he should not give any vaccinations to K1 visa applicants!

I had my (then) fiancé get the vaccinations in India anyway – MMR (measles, Mumps and Rubella), Tetanus and Varicella, because they are MUCH less expensive to get in India. Only we did not know that MMR and Varicella require a SECOND dose several weeks after the first dose, so we had to pay for him to get those shots here in USA before the civil surgeon would give the paperwork for AOS (I-693A Vaccination supplement).

If you have time, I suggest your wife get the required vaccinations from a doc in India. Bring proof and then here in USA it will be easier, quicker and less expensive to do the AOS.

it is normal for k visas for not gettng vaccinated but better if vaccinated in india n keeping records as it will be cheaper for lateron purposes
