Also while awaiting for the visa, its a good gesture to send monetary help once  in a  while to your  fiancee.

Transfers of money between the K-1 fiancée and the citizen petitioner can sometimes lead to accusations of fraud.  DoS and/or USCIS can question if either party is going the process for sake of a genuine relationship or for monetary gain.

We are 16 month into our K1 visa application.  We haven't gotten our approval yet.  If we were in your case, we would have changed to spousal visa instead.  It's a much better visa.  We only did the K1 because the time we applied, the processing time is 6-8 months.  I wish we had a crystal ball that time.  LOL

I’ve successfully navigated two K1 visas. I wouldn’t switch. It’s always about patience. Assembling a new packet, all the forms and fees, and in the end it only complicates everything.

Also, getting married in the Philippines is never a good idea, especially for women. With no legal avenues for simple divorce, women are screwed. Best avoid Filipino bureaucracy as much as possible as it’s always a nightmare.
