Hello,

I am filing for my wife and this is my 3rd marriage. My first marriage ended almost 40 years ago and I cant find the certificate. Do I need the certificate from my first marriage or only my second? I contacted the court I got divorced and they advised they don't have records so far. How can I get this if I need it? Also do I need to send it with the i130 or when she goes to the interview at her embassy?

upload / file everything in the initial package. if you have it, send it, no need to wait until interview to submit it

yes,  i used the following site when looking to find out info on great grandparents who came from Finland into Michigan

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/w2w/index.htm

first determine the state or area where the birth, death, marriage, or divorce occurred, then click on that state or area.

You need evidence of legal termination of all marriages, whether that was from 40 years ago, or a year ago.  Full stop.

I was already told I need it and clearly I was asking how to get it because the superior court says they don't have records so far back. If you cant answer my question please scroll past because you sound like you're being rude and i'm just asking for assistance

Just a reminder that telling someone not to post is against TOS.

Again, have you tried contacting vital records of the county where divorce took place?

Yup.  Also, this is posted in the incorrect forum.

Is this for adjustment of status (spouse is already in the US), or filing for a spousal visa via consular processing abroad?  Please let us know so that I can move this post to the correct forum.  Thanks!
