Has she received her NOA? If so, it has an extension of her green card for one year written on it. With that and her expired green card, she will be fine. If you have not received the NOA, do not leave the country. You will not be able to get back in, now that they require a passport to travel to Mexico.

What's up Lomesh, Long time no see back from the old mumbai days post. I can see from your link your wife has received the NOA for the removal of conditions, That paper is very valuable IT EXTENDS THE GREEN CARD for one 1 year. SO when travel take it with you, as long as your wife passport itself is still valid, you can travel with the expired green card ALONG with the NOA Extension Letter.

Gone but not Forgotten!
