Wife in Sri Lanka, Economy downturn, can we expedite?

I'm the petitioner. My father has serious dementia and my mother had a triple bypass last year. They are both old (62+) and it is getting very difficult for them to do basic things. I try to help as much as I can but I'm also tied up with work. I have 2 sisters, one lives in WV where medical facilities are not that great, the other sister has some disorders.

Is my application eligible to be expedited? Right now, it's been more than 6 months since I applied and it looks like from the case processing times, it will take another 6 months for them to just look at it. Ridiculous.

technically no,  u can try, but even when the case is outside processing time, uscis still wont approved expedite anyway

where are they right now? most of the time the health insurance/bill is cheaper in home country compare than the US.

Probably not.  I take it since you are posting in a spouse visa forum, your parents are not the intending immigrants.  Why would you think your parents' health issues would justify expediting your spouse's visa case?

Did you know that there are always more than 1,000,000 I-130s pending in the system?  That has been the case since 2016.  Every form must be looked at by human eyes.  It just takes time to process that many forms.  Good luck.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I'm so sorry you're having a tough time with your parents.

If you're thinking of expediting. You'd have to show why your sisters are unable to help with care (both in person and financially).

Can the sister in WV not help you financially so you're able to pay a caregiver to help your parents out?

And are you just having your spouse come over to act as a caregiver? You would not be expecting your spouse to work?

If expedite at USCIS level is approved. You'd have to apply for an expedite at NVC again...

Which country would the spouse be interviewing out of? Please complete your profile and your timeline to get a more accurate picture (from members) about how long you have to wait... (some DQ to interviews for some consulates is very long). You should be looking at Plan B to help your parents out.

Has anyone ever sent a duplicate expedite email i forgot to add a important doctor’s note and i hate to get denied without it? Have anyone just sent another one?

You can send for expedite again. But the doctors note or any other things wouldn't help for expedite since uscis doesn't see any connection between your beneficiary wife and your parents immigration wise.

My wife is in Sri Lanka and the economy there is really bad. There is no petrol, electricity is cut for atleast 3+ hours a day, limited transportation. Everything there has tripled in price. To get fuel, we have to stay in the queues 24/7 for days and it is rationed.

I have 2 questions:

1) Once NVC stage is approved, will there be delays in the consular interview due to electricity cuts and petrol rationing?

2) Can we expedite based on the economy conditions?
