Hello everyone,

I have not been back in this Forum because I was  on deployment  at Sea and just got back.

Please , I need some guidance: I have been approved since mid February 2022.  The embassy received  our approval from NVC and  directed my fiancee on April 1  to proceed to one of their local clinic to get medical examination. The Consulate also sent us the checklist of documents we need to provide for the interview. I asked them the authorize me to send my Affidavit of support and other financial evidence to them which they kindly agreed.  My fiance have done with medical examination and she received her medical exams results around the 24 of May and she was told by the clinic that her results have been sent to the consulate.  Since then we have not heard anything from them.  we can't call to follow up because the consulate told us not to call them.. they will call us  once they receive  the medical exam results. The results have been sent to them over  a month ago.   So my question is what do I do?  How long it takes to schedule  the interview date? My approval notice expired on 14 Jun 2022.     I'm now in the dark; just waiting and I can't make no plan.  This  is 17th month that we  started this process.  This process is very very stressful.

Your guidance are much appreciated. Thank you all .

For K1 usually the applicant schedules the interview not the embassy.

Where will your partner interview? If you tell us your country people will be able to help you... as each consulate has a different process.

Hard to give advice when we don’t know which consulate you’re dealing with.

Timeline says Togo

Thanks, I see now. That’s a rare country here

I think what OP should do is go ahead and fill out the DS-160 and try to schedule their own appointment. Regarding the consulate telling you not to call…. Just call them and see what they say. That’s what I would do.

Thank  you for the quick reply.

My fiancee is in Lome Togo,  so she will interview at Lome Consulate, but I'm stationed in Japan under military orders.  The Consulate instructed us to fill the DS 160 online.  we did and  have a copy of the application confirmation.  We are  just scared that if  we call, they will end up may   reprisal our application and  refuse my fiancee the visa, because you never know who you deal with.. So I'm  just don't know what is going on.

Thank you very much fellows .

They can’t do that and I also very much doubt that consular officers answer phones, I’m sure they have a person for that. Just be polite and explain the situation and that you need some clarity

You definitely need to get on this. The visa when issued is only going to be valid for 6 months from the date of the medical exam. If you spend 5 months waiting for a interview and pass, you will end up with a visa that expires in less than a month, not a good situation to be in for travel plans, so definitely call and see about scheduling an interview.
