That's interesting. I just looked up the Zoom Utah wedding and it seems like it's seen as illegitimate in the eyes of immigration officials? I'm not sure.

It’s legitimate for the purposes of immigration once the married couple meet “consummate” the marriage after (or during) the ceremony.

there was a lot of work plus travel to several cities and tons of paperwork to marry in Moroc too

but its a lot easier and faster and less expensive than going thru the AOS after marriage in the US

That is just not true.....I suggest you study the guides here.  You seem to be misinformed about multiple things  The immigration process requires a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and money.

Thanks for the very helpful reply. You're adding a lot of value to the thread.

There is no reason to wait to file for a spousal visa if you have been married and you have consummated the wedding.  The sooner you apply, the sooner the visa will be issued.  Good luck.  I hope you have a smooth journey.

^^ This!

As a side, you can get married on a tourist visa and then file for AOS.  You cannot plan to use a tourist visa to get married and file for AOS.  That is immigration fraud.  Be very careful on that.

Thank you for the info! I have one detail that we're not sure if it would be okay or not. When filling up the online form DS-160, it asks where I'm going to stay and if I know someone who lives there. Should I put her address & the relationship as (Fiancee) in the states since I'm actually gonna be staying there? or would that just make it very difficult for me to get the approval? cause otherwise, I would have to book a hotel room. Also noting that I do have strong ties to Egypt; Since I work for a multinational corporation & mortgage to pay off every quarter.

So now you are applying for a B?

Complete is with whatever the truth is.

Is there now a different plan? Is she moving?

The question is still regarding visiting the US to get married. I just need to know if it would be fine to put her name, address and relationship on the tourist visa application or not. Thank you for the added value to the thread! StackOverflow all over again!

No need to be snarky to those trying to help you.

People are understandably confused if you appear to be posting as both the USC and the foreign fiance.

There is no sponsorship or petition for a B visa, and the applicant needs to apply for it herself, and be truthful about US contacts and ties (or lack thereof) to home.

it's just a simple letter from the person you're going to be staying with to be presented during the visa interview.
