Tax transcripts "for the most recent year"

Next week is my husband's interview in Ankara. The embassy sent an email saying we should bring and upload to CEAC "From petitioner and any co- sponsors for the most recent year." Our 2020 tax transcripts were accepted in 2021, which we had to request via snail mail.

Will the embassy be okay with the 2020 transcripts that we had submitted? Any suggestions of what to bring if not?

Thanks!

It's hard to say.....I would certainly take and submit 2021 tax year documents if available.

when you sent 2020 returns it was 4 of 21 of 2021

2020 returns were needed up till the 18th of April 2022 as after that date 2021 are the most recent

if u do not produce 2021,  the case will go into AP (seeming a never ending wait for embassy to get and approve)

1040 plus W2,  any 1099 or 1099R  can be accepted if IRS has not yet processed your taxes like so many who wait

and now,  it seems embassies are asking for the W2 even if u provide the offical IRS transcripts  (this means all pages even blank ones)

Upload either the 2021 tax return transcripts...OR...Complete federal tax returns including all forms and schedules plus W2 and 1099 forms.

Thanks!  I'll provide those. I just wish the embassy's email matched their website.

The website says transcripts OR tax returns from only the sponsorer.

The email only says transcripts from sponsorer AND petitioner.

The petitioner is always the primary "sponsor".  If you have a joint sponsor, then you have sponsor and petitioner.

Words mean things.  They did NOT say "co-sponsor".
