Hi guys, I just received my passport today. However, I noticed that my photo is not correctly located within the white background photo box. (example shown below.)

I was wondering if anyone here has the same issue. Is it ok to use this passport like how it is? or do I need to get a new passport?

Thanks so much for your help.

Update:

I tried to see if I can fill out the ds 5504 form online, but it doesn't let me go to the last step because there was no option for me to choose that the picture is printed incorrectly. Once I clicked no to the question "Were the data printed correctly?" The website only has options for gender, name, place of birth, and date of birth. I cannot move to the next page without clicking "yes the data is printed correctly". And then it leads me to the page where it shows I need to pay the fees again.

Very frustrating.

Hi Lizzy,

I just looked at my 18-months old passport, and a small part of my right shoulder is outside the white background area, just like your shoulder. So far it hasn't caused any problem in any of the 4-5 European countries who checked/stamped it (inside and outside of the Schengen region).

YMMV, but I don't think there's an issue unless part of your face/head is missing (not just out  of the white background).

Ok, I was really stressed out about this, even thought about going to Canada to test it out and see if it will work without any issues. Thanks so much for your reply.
