Got GC and 2 of 3 notices. Do I need the 3rd?

Hi all,

Quick question. I got my GC and all, but never received the approval notice. I got 2 of 3 notices. I got my Welcome to America Letter and then I got an envelope with my GC in it. They then sent out an approval notice but I never got it. So I called the help line, and the woman on the phone said she'd mail out a new one (yeah right!!) and all she sent was a letter telling me that if I needed an official duplicate, I'd have to spend $200 on the I-824 form to request a new one.

My question is... When I go to remove conditions in 2009, will I need to show an official copy of my approval notice? I need to essentially know if I should be spending $200 on that form or not. Any help/advice appreciated.

All you need for removal of conditions is a photocopy of your greencard..... The greencard is your approval notice, the letter that it was attached too is the approval letter that the email talks about...

Yes, despite the email indicates, there is no "approval notice" seperate from the Green Card. You should only receive 2 letters from USCIS, the "Welcome Letter" and the Green Card.

I only asked because I got 2 notices before May 16th and then I got an email saying that they sent out the approval notice on the 16th of May.. after I'd received my GC and welcome letter.

Who can understand the mystery that is the USCIS email system? For example, I was happy to find out that my card production was ordered, but did they need to send me the same email 5 times?

I was wondering the same thing. I never received the approval letter, but it stated online that approval letter was sent out. WEIRD!
