Hello everyone!

I was wondering if anyone has had any recent experience with the Alexandria, VA office? My husband has his biometrics appointment on July 31. I have heard various things like it can be super crowded to the point where any non-applicants have to stand outside. I was curious if the office is still that overloaded with appointments? Also, what is the parking situation like? Is there a specific parking lot, or is it only street parking? Any advice would be appreciated!

Also, just to clairfy, only biometrics are done in Alexandria, correct? Any interviews would be done in the Fairfax, VA office, right? (Anyone have any Fairfax office experience?)

JupIter,

Glad that my summary helped allay any worries. As for the Alexandria ASC, I do believe it is only for biometrics and such. Not entirely sure though.

If you live in DC, your local office for the interview will be in Fairfax. I am told that they were efficient and pleasant.

Best of luck on your journey, and keep us updated.

Since you got your reply from latoslatos about the biometrics already, I'll give you a review of the Fairfax office. I didn't have an interview there, but I did go for an infopass appointment.

There isn't any specific parking for the building, so your best bet it to park in the parking garage. I believe it cost us $5 for the day (we were only there for 20mins )

You have to walk all the way to the street side of the building to get in, and right away you will go through security, metal detectors, and xray. Be sure to leave cellphone in your vehicle.

You will then be put in a specific line according to what you are doing there. Since we had an infopass, we were put in one line, another gentleman was put into another (not sure if he had an appointment, or if he was a walk-in).

We saw the lady who scanned out appointment sheet, gave us a number and we went and sat for 5 minutes before we were called.

the next lady we talked to was nice enough, and was able to tell us that I hadn't been put into the save system, and told us to go to Dulles to get my I-94 sent again. Bit of a pain, but helpful advice nonetheless.

It's not the most accessible office around, but the were nice and friendly enough. :)

Hope this helps if you happen to have an interview!

I'm glad to hear that the Fairfax office moves quickly in terms of infopass (and hopefully appointments). I really hope their interview officers are friendly too! I have been by the building before, but never inside... I actually work about three blocks away from the office. Thanks for the advice J&K!
