Hello

I have to resubmit my I 693( medical)  form to aid in I 485 processing.  When I had filed the I 485 last year, I had a Alien number from my EAD.  Since then USCIS assigned me a new one on the notifications I received from them.  I am now not sure which A# to write on the resubmitted form.  Should i put in the original once since it is on all of my forms that were submitted last year.  Or put in the new one they assigned.  Or write both.

Any one have an experience with this .  grateful for your advise.

We had an old A number from a previous period as LPR .. given a new one when we filed this time.. i would use the new one but if theres a non confusing  way of putting the previous one as well, do so

Definitely add both A#  ( you can hand write it on I-693 notice ) and include a copy of your pending I-485 .
Also do a free FOIA for a complete copy of your file and you will see why you have two A#

For example @Lil bear had an old A # from previous LPR , but when he applied for new benefit he did not write his A # in , so was assigned a new one..because that happens at initial mailroom stage so they can generate receipts and get cases started.

Wow, it has been my understanding that they try to hard avoid creating multiple A# files .
The most common occurrence is  for an “ older “ A# to suddenly pop up during the processing of an application , which is what it sounds like in OP’s case.

Yep. Just goes to remind us that, just when we think we understand the system .. it proves us wrong ! again!!   The old A number was declared on the I130 petition. Front page, first line !!

Perhaps in your case, I don’t know enough of the system’s mechanisms, and your old A# ( for an LPR status that ceased) had to be retired and new A # for new status.

But I am fairly certain that there was no random error in OP’s case and a brand new A# assigned mid stream.
Of course, I also think that since they want I-693 only, he will get a very speedy approval to follow!
