NVC STAGE DILEMMA: PLS HELP

Good day all,

We have pretty much gathered all we need for the NVC  stage but i'm confused about some documents which are termed "Required" and "additional"

1. My wife who is the USC (Petitioner) was previously divorced and we have the Divorce Decree. On the AOS section for the Petitioner, under the "additional Document", are we to upload the scanned copy of my wife's divorce decree and if yes, is the declaration page of the decree ok? As the divorce decree is a whole bunch of papers running to lots of pages, are we supposed to scan all these too or are they not required ,since i can take the physical one to the interview when the time comes?

When we check under the additional document tab (AOS section), things like Birth certificates, Passport Bio page etc popped up, are we supposed to provide this for the petitioner?

More so, i've read about some people recommending that divorce decree, even for the petitioner should be uploaded under the civil documents of the beneficiary section , which is confusing.

Your assistant will be appreciated. Thanks

Yes petitioners divorce decree all pages like you dd at USCIS is required. Upload in the petitioner section since it's the petitioners.

No BC, Passport is not needed for Petitioner.

Wow!! The full divorce decree is like 30 pages. I'm just wondering how the scanned file will fit into the 2MB upload cap, sigh.

Look for something called Judgement, that is usually one or two pages only , not the long decree and all that’s needed

You can go to any Office Max type store and ask they scan large files into 2 MB and email them to you…it only costs a few dollars and saves headaches.

You can have each category scanned/ emailed separately so when you go home just upload where it belongs . …for example page tax returns, bank statements…etc

Yes, the Judgement is just two pages. There other pages at the back that's got the Attorney's signatures etc, Does this not matter? Moreso, please are you saying this from experience? I couldn't get the compressed files past 6mb.

OK, I want to just add this feedback to the thread from personal experience so as to help future filers who might look up this thread.

Our case just got DQed August 31st, 2022 and for the Divorce decree, all we uploaded was just the first two pages called the *Judgement pages* and the Attorneys signatures at the back, all in one single pdf file. No Rfe whatsoever

Good luck to everyone
