She is at the Post Office, and they are telling her that she needs a PIN number to send the $100.

They are telling her

(A) She cannot send USD and must use THB

(B) she needs a password, or PIN number

The first is a surprise, but not a big deal, but I have no idea what the password or PIN number would be, or when it would have been given to me. Can anyone help? thanks!

Your absence runs through me like a needle

Do you get answer to ? You dont send money to Embassy. They have no way to accept money.

If not this is easy to do. Have her go to post office. She pays there a fee that allows you to get pin # . You can buy two different types. One for on line use & one for phone use to get appointment date.

Go to Visa Point site & use that link to set appointment. The pin # allows you to do that. You will have to wait a few days for pin to be used at Visa Point.

Portlander:

If a k-3 is the same as a k-1 visa, your wife doesn't need a pin number. She needs to tell a person at the post office that she wants to pay money (the amount equivalent to 100$ paid in Thai currency, though) for a spouse/fiancee visa. All she needs from the post office is a receipt of the amount paid to show the CO at the interview.

Pin numbers are for those who is applying for non-imigrant visas such as a visitor visa.

Good luck.

Portlander, first good luck w/ your interview in less than 2 days!! fingers crossed that your family is reunited soon!

we just did this about a week ago. it cost us $3,600 THB, she just fills out a little slip of paper then pays the fee they attach the receipt and she takes it to the interview. also what most people are unaware of is the US embassy has a post office on the grounds.

Its all taken care of now - I suspect she never told the people behind the counter she's going for a K visa. She called me up a bit later and asked about the medical appointed she was heading to (translate - the Post Office is finished, and I don't want to give an explanation) Of course, now we have a new problem. She's got Pneumonia. She's back in the hospital today for more tests. The interview is Thursday and the plane is on Saturday ... You know what they say ... If its not one thing its something a lot worse! :(
