Hi, I am on a trip to the U.K. and stupidly forgot the marriage certificate. I usually bring this because my green card is in my married name and my passport and tickets are in my maiden name. I’m kind of panicking because i have no idea how to get over this issue or show proof of name change without the marriage certificate. I’ve tried to look up obtaining it online (it’s a SC certificate) but it isn’t coming up. My trip back home is less than two weeks ago

does anyone have any ideas?

Have someone at home send it via international courier to you

I took my keys to my apartment so I’m not sure how anyone could get in :( I know I’ve planned this terribly

I usually have all my immigration documents on my laptop  when I file everything and usually travel with the laptop, Do you do that? A copy of the marriage cert would work.

All of us have had something like this happen. .. you didnt do it on purpose .. be gentle on yourself.

Contact someone at the clerk's office of the county you got married in. Don't use any online marriage certificate copy services - talk to an actual human. That way someone may be able to send you a scan or (at extra cost) courier you a certified copy directly from their records office even if it's not a regular service you can get on their website.
