Vast differences in processing times for I-131

Hello all,

 

According to the USCIS processing time website, there are major differences in the processing time for the I-131 depending on the National Benefits Center or other locations.

 

National Benefits Center:  9 months.

CA Service Center: 14 months

Nebraska Service Center:  16.5 months.

Texas: 14.5

Vermont: 14.5

 

Does anyone know why the National Benefits Center is so much shorter?  Is there any way to get your application handled by the National Benefits Center or how is your case allocated?

Processing times are BS anyways. They’re just goalposts that they keep moving around so that when you’re ready to file an expedite or an out-of-processing motion, they move them again so that you’re under normal processing times.

But back to your original question, as to why processing times differ, nobody really knows why.
