Name change after marriage (Ukrainian)

My fiancee is Ukrainian and she entered the US via K1 visa several weeks ago. We are now about to get married and she's thinking about having her surname changed to mine. For those who have done it, I have the following questions:
- Did you also change your surname in Ukraine?

- If you change your surname in the US but not in Ukraine, will this cause any problems?

Sorry- not an answer to your question but Make an appointment ASAP at SS office and get her SS #

u have limited time

i think when the SS card comes and u present the marriage certificate at SS office ,  u can change the name

i can be wrong on that one but if u don't have the SS # fast,  u have to wait for AOS process to change her last name

and no issues if not changed in Ukraine

My wife never changed her surname in Russia and has no plans to do so, but her legal name in the US is Anastasiia [my surname].

We thought about fixing the annoying double i in Anastasia from the official Russian government transliteration, but I think we've concluded that would be more trouble than it's worth.
