Hepatitis B shot required for AOS?

Hi There,

I hope somebody here can help me. I had my medical exam done in my home country last month in order to get the Fiance Visa. Now that I'm in USA, I wanted to have the information on the vaccination worksheet from the medical transferred onto the I-693A to file with AOS. The DS3025 worksheet says "vaccine history complete" and for Hepatitis B it says "not age appropriate".

I went to the civil surgeon today and he said I also needed Hepatitis B shot. So I wanted to ask if somebody knows where I can find the list of required vaccinations for different age groups. I remember reading somewhere that Hep B is only required for children and youths under 18. I don't want to spend that extra money if I don't have to.

Also, I called the USCIS customer service and they told me I needed a new full medical exam, which is bullshit as we all know. When I read them the instructions on the I-485 AOS form about Fiance's who had the exam within one year don't need a new one, the person told me that he couldn't help me any more and would transfer me somewhere else. I didn't have the patience to wait on hold any longer.

Thank you in advance for your help, my fellow VJ-ers! :)

This age-appropriate chart listed in one of the links on the other thread definitely confirms that if you've already received the required vaccinations from your pre-consulate medical for K1, you don't need any others for AOS.

What a relief! :D

Thank you so much for all your replies and those links!!! I'll print out the Instructions and get on the doctor on Monday. I'll have my husband (yippie - we're getting married tomorrow) go with me, I still have a hard time arguing in English.

I'll let you know what the outcome is.

Happy Ending to this thread:

We went to the doctor today with all the documents you guys suggested and he admitted that we were right and I didn't need a Hep B shot, it isn't required for adults. So I left his office with two sealed envelopes - one for USCIS and one for my records.

We also got our marriage certificate and a couple of certified copies today, and should be sending off our AOS paperwork some time this week.

Thanks again for your help!!!
