I don't know how I am gonna share the news with my fiancé. I have been the optimist between the two of us but at this point it is hard to remain optimistic, this process is torture. Had hopes that the new fiscal year would bring good news but again NO! Smh.

When we applied in June 2022 it was 13 months it has gone up by 2 months now. Beginning to think this ordeal will be over in 2024 at this rate. Hopeless.

Yes, it truly is something isn't it? When we were applying and filling out the initial forms back in June 2021, it showed 5-7 months! How foolish of us to think that, LOL. The following weeks/months would pass by and the time kept going up from 5-7 months to 6-8, 7-11 and eventually topping off at almost 13 months.

The most frustrating part is that the initial NOA1 is literally the beginning, then the rest is not any faster unfortunately......only thing helping would be positivity and patience. Good luck!

Indeed we can only keep holding on and hoping. Eventually we will all get there. Thanks and good luck to you too.

Hey all, happy waiting to everyone!

So, I know we're not supposed to compare our processing times to others, but for my own sanity (and because friends and coworkers often ask), last week I made a spreadsheet to try and track what we can expect our timeline to look like based on the K1 Timeline Statistics page and the Visa Flowchart page. Would anyone be able to help me wrap my head around some of the statistics? Specifically this seemingly large discrepancy, where the Avg Days between NOA 1 and NOA 2 is listed as 292 and 363-387 (depending on center) on the same page.

I also attached the kind of roadmap I've made and was hoping to update periodically just by using the average days between steps from the statistics page. Also, I suppose I could take out some of the things specific to our relationship and make this general so others can use/share (once figuring out what number of days to use).

Best Wishes to everyone else waiting!

Hi Minam!

I personally don’t think you can rely on what every individual reports on visajourney because to begin with, a lot aren’t aware of the fact that the Texas center doesn’t actually adjudicate i129f, Texas is just the PO BOX that all forms are initially sent to. Having said that, I also notice that a lot of the users don’t update their timelines which further disrupts the visajourney reports. I’d suggest following the daily scans of the other groups (currently July/August/September 2021) to keep yourself updated on the processing speed. Unfortunately, they aren’t speeding up as promised but we have no other option than to wait and hope they live up or at least start moving towards the set goal of 6-months.

Well, I hate being the bearer of bad news but it has gone up again.. 15.5 months

It's ridiculous but there's nothing we can do but wait. It will probably get worse before it gets better I'm expecting 18-20 months worst case scenario. In 2023 we'll see some improvements hopefully.

What can a bunch of strangers do to bring national attention to this? Keep hearing the news talking about how recent changes to immigration in the last decade are causing major workforce issues in the US. If the stats are correct, coupled with declining birth rates and sperm counts, what will it take to elevate to a national security issue?

If it were listed as such, this process we're all waiting on would get a lot more special attention, as would the rest of the immigration pool.

I have no idea really there are several petitions out there to call attention to the situation but so far nothing’s changed. K1 has never been a priority for them and highly doubt it will ever be.

Going by what they said several months ago hopefully they will stick to their plans to reduce the backlog and reduce processing times to 6 months like it used to be precovid. For now we wait patiently and watch out for 2023 after the holiday season is over things might pick up then. But again its hard to expect much after what I've seen so far.

Indeed. Waiting is all most are able to do. Not me though, I'm not going to wait another year or more to be with the woman I love.

US Citizens can visit the Philippines visa free for 30 days, and they can extend their stay up to 2 years. That should be enough time to walk through this whole process and enter the US together.

Initially I thought this would go MUCH faster. As foolish as this might sound, I actually believed she would already have her visa by now after recently applying in June of this year.

I leave the US on 12/30, slated to arrive in the Philippines on 12/31.

That’s what most of us thought when we filed that it would be fast or at least speed up because of their promises to reduce  the backlog and since everyone else was getting back to work and normal working schedules but here we are at 15.5 months yet when we applied in June 2022 it was 13 months. Honestly you can never be fully aware of the nightmare of the immigration system until you are in the process. It is great that you are able and have the opportunity to be with your SO until the wait is over. For us, as with most applicants I’m sure, just have to wait it out and visit each other every few months for which I’m still grateful because even some can’t meet during the entire process. What’s your noa1 btw?
