I’ve been following your updates on this thread daily for…months now. I know the frustration, our NOA 1 is June 8th and we’re still sitting at “Case Received”.

I had an arrest(charges dropped) from when I was a teenager back in the late 2000s that was sealed, fearing an RFE we did get a lawyer to get the sealed documents from the court to send with our initial packet. I’m still worried we’ll get an RFE for something even after 14.5 months with no updates.

this system is neither fair nor equitable, and the lack of accountability and transparency of uscis is phenomenally heart wrench for those of us getting left behind and separated from our loved ones

Im sorry to hear your case stills received status...I feel so sad everytime I do the scans and I see all those cases still received....meanwhile many August and September filers are getting approved...😔

I can consider myself "lucky" I got a RFE last month and Im just waiting for them to review my documents and hopefully approve me...but Im a very sensitive person and I get sad really quick with all this...😔

A May filer got a RFE last 22 August after 468 days waiting....ITS INSANE...he stills happy bcs they finally touched his case but damn...not even NOA2😔

Congrats, this is good news!

AFAIK RFIE and RFE are almost the same. Someone here can correct me if I'm wrong but an RFE is probably them asking for further evidence than you've already provided. You probably forgot to include some required supporting documents. Hopefully in a few days you'll know what exactly.

Best of luck!

My status finally changed on USCIS website. It says they are sending me a Request for Initial Evidence. Is that different than a Request for Evidence?

Request for initial evidence is when you didn't submit one or some documents on the list that they require you to submit when you sent out your petition to them like Intention to get married letter or proof that you guys meet in person within 2 years of submitting the petition. Or when you forget to check any/ some boxes in the form that they can send you Request for Initial Evidence to complete the form.

Request for additional evidence is when you forgot to submit documents to support what you have declare in the form. Like our case, we got RFE because my man declared that he got a Temporary Restraining Order for his divorce but forgot to attach that Order alongside with petition when he sent it out. Just after he submitted that order that we got approved.

I feel you. But believe me, you will get approved very soon. You deserve it more than anyone else. God will bless you for your kindness to everyone. I am in many groups and saw that you are resiliently keeping people updated, be it January or May or June. I think not only me but many other people keep praying for you too. I myself keep praying for you everyday for more than a month already and will keep doing so till you get your interview appointment 🙏🙏🙏
