Hi there,

My i-864 form was rejected by NVC because the signature was not signed by hand (stupid mistake...).  Now as I'm preparing for the replacement form, I am wondering if it is ok to submit the entire i-864 in handwriting, or is it ok to combine computer typed pages + one scanned page with my handwritten signature?  Worried because it looks a bit inconsistent with one scanned page. I also realized that when I print the page the barcode is lost - would it be a problem?  Just trying to make a perfect submission so it can be done in one go...thanks in advance for your help!

depend on how well is ur handwritting. some its like worms handriwtting that people cant read, so my suggestion type everything and get a wet signature

Thanks for replying! My handwriting is pretty clear and I wrote in caps, the issue is that the pdf file is password protected, when I went to the printshop they are unable to print out the info I typed - all the fields are blank, so I can only write down by hand.

This is ok but you must still maintain the order of pages after combining.

Or you can also scan all the pages after hand-signing the signature page. Whichever is easier for you.

Thank you for replying! I am wondering if it is also ok if I submit all in clear handwriting? This is because the form I downloaded is secured so all the typed fields cannot be printed out...

When I applied about three years ago I had a combination of handwriting and typing. No issues there, so long as you have wet signature

Did you download from the official USCIS website?  https://www.uscis.gov/i-864

Are you using Adobe software to read/edit the form?  If you download from the USCIS website and use Adobe reader, you should be able to edit and print the I-864 form just fine.

if you want a typed form with hand signature, (standard procedure) then download a new PDF.  Open it with Adobe Reader, (not some other program), complete the form on your laptop.  Then, print all pages, sign in the proper place, then scan all pages to a single PDF at a resolution that produces the correct size file.  Upload that file.  Follow each and every one of the above instructions, and you'll be golden.
