Fee for K-3

Hello, I sent off my I-130 and awaiting my receipt letter. I was going over the new fees. There's 2 part for the K3:

Fee Increase Information:

Effective July 30, 2007, the fee for general fiancée petitions will increase to $455. All petitions postmarked on or after July 30 must be accompanied by the new fee.

Petitions for K-3 status based on an immigrant petition filed by the same U.S. citizen husband or wife will have no fee.

I'm a US citizen applying for my husband, therefore no fee for me correct? Also I reside in Florida and my husband in Jamaica. I am to mail my application to the Chicago, IL address?

Thanks is advance.

In your case, there is no fee for to file the I-129F but the fee to file the I-130 goes up.

Hmm, I'm curious. I just sent my I-130 on July 10 with the old fee. It's possible I might not get my NOA-1 so I can file the I-129F until after July 30. What does that mean for me? Would I still send the I-129F with no fee and I get a discount over new filers?

I doubt it will work that way but nobody really knows. What you could have done is file them both together and send them directly to either CSC or VSC. You could also file the I-129F now with the current fee, using other proof of filing instead of waiting for the NOA1.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

I think that the forms will change when the fees increase. Like K-3s when you include the NOA of I-130, they'll probably will look at the date filed too. We'll just have to wait and find out. Edited by alohaspirit
