CEAC Refused to Administrative Processing

Hi all,

I'm hoping that someone can help as I've searched all over the web to no avail! Yesterday I had my interview, all was fine except they asked to see the petitioner's (my husband) divorce decree.  American divorce certificates tend to be lengthier than the UK's and somewhere I had read to just bring a copy of the front page.  So I did.  I handed them the copy I had printed out of the front page.  They advised that this wasn't uploaded onto CEAC.  (I think we may have had an issue as she also said that the W2's were cut off but thankfully I had that printed out! As once submitted it won't let you reopen the file!). She handed me the green 221g form and said to upload the divorce certificate.  I asked to CEAC? she said yes.  She handed me the green form and a "How to Upload to CEAC" sheet.  I checked my status on CEAC and it was showing as Refused.  I went home and uploaded my husbands divorce decree and this morning the status has changed to Administrative Processing.

My confusion is that the green 221g says to submit the original divorce certificate of the petitioner.  So have they accepted my CEAC copy or not? Do I still have to physically get an original copy from the courts in the USA, have him courier it to me and then drive an hour to the nearest DX postal service or does this mean that my upload is enough?

Anyone experience this? I'm going crazy trying to figure this out!

they said to upload it so that would be sufficient

Don't drive yourself crazy over this

  • if the CO wanted the original in her office ,,  she would have said to send it thru a carrier to the embassy

I'm panicking because I was flustered and she didn't really explain anything! On the green 221g it has ticked to send original divorce certificate and then an email was sent to me with tracking information to send via DX?

Hi there,

I was hoping you may be able to help; me and my wife have applied for our i130 in May, and are unsure as to how long the processing will take.

You mentioned in a previous post that your application was expedited? Please could you shed any light on this?

Thank you.

Yes our case was expedited due to my husband being in the military.  The processing times can be found on the USCIS website, it depends on which Service Centre it's at and whether you're a USC or LPR.
