Are IR-1/CR-1 interviews scheduled based on the priority date or the DQ date?

Hello,

Our case is in Vermont, AKA the black hole of USCIS. This means many people will be getting approved and becoming DQ before us, even if our PD is earlier than theirs.

So we want to know if interviews are scheduled based on DQ or PD, given that all other variables such as (USC spouse, country of beneficiary) are the same for consular processing.

Immigrant visa interviews are scheduled based on DQ date.  The process is as follows:

1.  USCIS approves the petition.

2.  USCIS sends case to NVC.

3.  NVC collects fees, collects documents, "approves" documents, and assigns a DOS case number.

4.  Once NVC has "DQ'd" the case, it (the case) enters a queue FOR YOUR CONSULATE (at NVC).

5.  When your case reaches the front of that queue for your consulate, NVC will schedule the interview, notify the applicant, and then send the case to the appropriate consulate.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

you just filed the petition in April of 2022

it will be anywhere between  from 18 or more months before the case is sent to NVC and DQ (if u are on the ball and pay those 2 fees and get your supporting documents in to NVC in a timely manner

meanwhile spend as much time together as possible to strengthen your case

keep yourself busy during this time as the wait is long and USCIS does not keep us informed

Not only did you not answer my question, but you also offered incorrect information. Vermont is currently at 15 months (14-16 before the last update), thanks though.

I said 18 or more months for the DQ at NVC to happen if u read the way it is written

and interviews depend on DQ from your country only

u can't look at other dq dates as each embassy is dependent on Adequate staffing ,   # of petitons  for that country (only),  and how fast u do the applications (ds 260 and AOS) and provide supporting documents

read posts from members who go thru Jordan,  check out timelines of VJ members from there,  read embassy reviews

as for Vermont being a black hole,  it use to be Nebraska /  timelines at USCIS can change year to year,  month to month, or day to day

i was at Nebraska for 10 months and sent to Missouri (for faster processing ) and it took another 6 months

14- 15 months is an average only

low fraud counties may take 10 months and high fraud countries take more than 15

average is average / not a set-in -stone #

Hmmm, my husband is in the UK and I'm a USC.  Our case is at CSC. We passed 10 months last week so I hope you're right. 🤞
