Thank you everyone for your input 

I know she’s disappointed about the backlog and the potential time frame of three years. 
I have shown her all of your answers, moving to Ghana isn’t something she’s willing to do because of the benefits she’s already getting at her good paying job and with kids as well. 
She very dedicated to her decision and I can only do so much to (help) avoid her from making a mistake. 
She’s looking for another country besides Brazil that her husband can travel to and become a resident there (for the life of me, I don’t know why she’s stuck on this topic)

She’s  convinced there’s a way for her to shorten the process, and as stated, I told her she can’t shop around for consulates because she wants to avoid the process. 
 

this doesn’t seem like this is going to change her mind. We’ll just have to wait and see which embassy besides Brazil she chooses to go with this time.

Is this not something her Husband should be focussing on?

 

Why not leave her alone, if she wishes to pursue something that seems a forlorn cause then so be it.

I agree.

the husband isn’t with the idea either because he doesn’t want to risk anything.

As a good friend you've advised her as much as you can.  There's only so far you can push string.
