I got a message saying my income was not enough and that i should maybe add a joint sponsor. After that rejection message i started a new job, asked my boss to provide an employment letter saying I’ve been working for a month and my salary is $42k a year and also uploaded 2 biweekly  paystubs. I also found a joint sponsor with a gross income of $20k but a checking account that has more than $100k as assets. All of my documents got ‘accepted’ (Picture 1)

Heres the PROBLEM; I uploaded the joint sponsor to the petitioner page… so i got a second reject message saying that i need to upload the joint sponsor to their own page.

(Pictures 3-4-5-6)

Since all of my financial documents were accepted  but they told me to transfer the joint sponsor do i still transfer the joint sponsor to his own page ? Or do i delete him completely? Did they mean to say we will accept you finances if you upload the joint sponsor correctly or does it mean i dont even need him..?

the joint sponsor has an income of $20,000. But a checking account that has had $100,000 for only the past 6 months. Before that it was $5000 in the bank account. Does it have to be 12 months minimum ?

Everything at this point is ‘accepted’.

My thoughts....

You need to "add joint sponsor" then upload your sponsors details I-864/ tax transcripts or returns/ W2s if return or MFJ to his own tab.

If you've received a DQ do it before interview. If you have not received DQ created "joint sponsor" tab and upload documents asap. You're at the back of the queue and the sooner you submit the sooner you'll be reviewed.

Your tab indicates "select sponsor" so I'm thinking you already added the joint sponsor. Maybe you should just choose the joint sponsor in the drop down menu and add the required documents.

1) I have uploaded the joint sponsor but his 2020 Tax returns show adjusted income is $20.000 he has $140.000 cash in his bank account but the money has been in the account since december 2021. So only 6 months, I’ve read somewhere that they want to see 12 months ? I also uploaded the 6 months of online bank statements.

2) When i prepared the i864 for the joint sponsor he only had 2020 taxes. but he did his 2021 taxes recently showing $12.000 adjusted income. Do you think i should upload 2021 taxes as well or just leave it alone ? Thank you

I've seen USCIS states they want to see 12 months of bank statements for assets but NVC does not have a similar message. We currently also have 6 months of bank statements but have not been reviewed yet. I cannot confirm if 12 months is necessary.

If you can upload both 2020 and 2021 taxes I would do that... especially as you have not been DQ'ed yet. I would upload 2021 tax information with a revised I-864 I really suggest this if you have not been DQ'ed yet... You don't want another RFE in three months because you uploaded 2020 taxes and not 2021 taxes. (after April 2022).

Are you able to secure a joint sponsor who makes over 125% poverty? Relying on assets of joint sponsor seems very shaky...

This is all just my opinion. Hopefully someone else can weigh in...

Thank you for all the answers, to remove a sponsor or replace the i864 of a joint sponsor do i need to use the public inquiry form ?
