So...I am so frusterated!!

I talked to a lady at USCIS and she told me that they are currently processing cases that are family based from MARCH 2006!!!

So forget about the Processing times online, they are employment based and have NOTHING to do with most of our petitions!

She advised me to apply for AP if I want to travel this year, so whatever the person I had talked to previously said about "oh, you will hear something soon" was BS!

I wanna cry! :crying:

Now I have to apply for AP asap before the fees are getting up! :(

Oh and I asked how it happens that some people who filed waaayyyy after me have gotten approved already and recieved their greencard, she just said she highly doubts that....told her I know for a fact, which she totally ignored...

So now I have two totally different responses from them, what do I go by...the one who told me I should get approved soon or the one that tells me it can take a loooong time? Or neither one of them?

I want to fly home for christmas and possibly on another trip in October/November, what do you think I should do? Apply for AP or wait and hope?

Welcome to the wonderful world of USCIS. There is no way to compare your case with others that are similar, and as such, its probably wise to plan your travel and AP application accordingly.

I'd take that March 2006 thing with a quasi grain of salt. Sort of reminds me of CSCs timelines for I 129fs - funny how they consistantly stay at 6 months...!

If you know that you will have to travel sometime soon, I would recommend applying for AP. And I would not trust anyone from USCIS, unless they are the officer working on your case.
