Our K1 was approved today!

interview took 5 minutes and only 3 questions:

 

1.  How did you meet?

2.  Has petitioner been married in past? 
3.  What are your wedding plans?

 

The Officer only asked to see wedding plans documents. 
 

The officer was very professional and nice and helpful and made me feel comfortable and less nervous.

We had:

1. Wedding cake receipt 

2. Justice of the Peace receipt 

3. invitations receipt 

4. wedding guest list 

5.  Cake topper receipt 

6.  Venue receipt 

7.  Wedding outfits receipt 

8.  Wedding rings receipt

That is odd since making wedding purchases before the visa is issued is very, very unwise.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thank you !  We were advised by our attorney to make all the arrangements so we did. And the officer seemed impressed with these plans and immediately after looking at the receipts he gave the “visa approved “ paper.  Status still not “issued”.  The paper they gave us states give 2 business days to show changes.

What does the status show now if it's not writed issued?

Sometimes, it will indicate "Refused" for a few hours......The only real indication of a final approved visa is when the status changes to "Issued".   What is the current status right now?

Because ALL visas go through administrative processing after the interview. That means everything has to be checked and completed.  Approval always comes after that processing. It could take a few minutes, a few hours, or longer.

Thank you, you mean the administrativ processing is to check the police record ect...?
