Is F-1 EAD null and void?

My wife is currently on OPT, but we have filed for a green card for her. She did her fingerprinting and just received her new EAD card in the mail. Our question is whether or not her old F-1 EAD is now null and void. Does she need to update her employer about her new EAD? Will she still need to update USCIS about employment changes? And is she now able to work in fields unrelated to her schooling? (Unlikely, but just curious). Thanks in advanced to anyone that answers.

EAD from AOS is superior as it allows her to work anywhere, not just in school. She can now work wherever she wants. 

 

Yes, update employer. 

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.
