Ford Focus,

Suzuki Aero,

Kia Rio?

We are so broke with cars now (Both Subaru and VW is hopeless laying apart in garage, that we have to make very quick and as possible cheap choice.

What you think or experienced?

I wouldn't recommend a Ford Focus. I've known of 2 people who got this type of car and have had nothing but problems. I'm not sure about the other two.

I've got a Ford Focus SE station wagon. Have had a bit of trouble with it, but (touch wood) it's working fine right now. I bought it for the station wagon aspect (need the space without the costly minivan price tag). Not sure I would get another Ford, tho, I'd have to say.

When I was looking, Kia came up pretty good, as I recall.

If you are limited to those choices which I doubt you truly are, if you look hard enough find a certified pre-owned Toyota woul dbe better,

However if you are limited to the 3 you mentioned Suzuki will probably be your best bet as far as reliability,

Kia has the industry best warranty but there is a reason for that you may need the warranty.

Ford Sad to say but Ford can not get it right with small cars.

a 1998-2002 Toyota Corolla would be an excellent value with an average reliability and customer satisfaction rating of 8.9 out of 10

Even a Toyota that is only a couple years old is probably a better option than a new KIA or Ford

Ford makes good cars; unfortunately Focus isn't one of them.

Given the choice, I'd go with Suzuki Aerio.

If you need something reliable get a gently used Toyota or Honda, or a Nissan.

The used certified gold Toyota I bought came with a 3 year warranty that included roadside assistance. Like every Toyota I have had, it runs like a dream and has only needed service, no repairs.

I bought a new Kia Rio back in 2002. I have had absolutely no mechanical problems with it whatsoever. I get the oil changed regularly and had to replace a cylinder head (or something like that) when a mouse got to it in the winter. Nothing has gone wrong with it (knock on wood ) I get 33mpg and it is a cute economical type car with an amazing price tag and warranty (which I have never had the opportunity to use). There aren't any frills, at least with mine...just basic. Worked perfectly for me as a college student and still does. If I had the opportunity I would by a Toyota or something a little higher end but as you don't seem to have the ability I vote for the Kia.
