hello guys

we have filed a petiotion in cairo and we need to transfer it to another countryt because we are living there now but they need to know if the case is already approved or not

the us embassy in cairo told me that:

The case is currently pending receipt of the following documents:

1. Photocopy of applicant’s passport (the original to be submitted on the appointment date)

2. Photocopy of applicants’ birth certificate (the original to be submitted on the appointment date)

3. Original police certificate from every country where the applicant has lived for more than 6 months since the age of 16 (not all are obtainable or required; call us at 02797-2201 for further information)

4. An Affidavit of Support (Form I-864ez) signed by the petitioner

5. Sponsor’s last year of federal income taxes (form 1040 only) for 2006.

6. Medical exam from applicant list attached

7. Application form (DS-230, part I and part II) link attached

8. 2 photos of the applicant on a white background (frontal face view).

Once we receive the required documents, we will schedule his appointment on the first available slot.

so now we sent them to inquire about this but no answer

does anybody know how can we investigate about our case and where is it now?

Ahmed,

in my case we followed 3 general steps:

1. Submitted I-130 petition to Dept. of Homeland Security at the embassy - When approved we moved on to step 2

2. Submitted documents in packet 3 to consultate at the embassy - When approved we moved on to step 3

3. Interview - Visa Approved

It sounds to me from your previous post and this one that you already filed the original petition and the embassy is waiting for you to submit what they asked you for, which is what I called "packet 3" or at least your petition has been approved. "Approved" only means that you can move onto the next step.

Once I filed my petition in Honduras I was told to wait 4 months, during that time there was no way for me to know how things were moving along so I just called the embassy now and again to check to see if anything was approved, thats the only way to find out.

I suggest you start getting all the documents they asked for and ask when you can present then to the embassy.

Good Luck
