Went to the movies yesterday

I took the family to the movies yesterday. We went for the idea of seeing Harry Potter. We all loved the movie although Robin didn't like the ending. The story line was riveting, the acting was good and the special effects were great.

We didn't have anything else to do so we stayed and watched Transformers. The Transformers movie was a DLP digital movie, the first time I ever saw one in that format. The picture was better than I have ever seen before! We didn't, however, like the Transformer movie much. The CG was first rate but that is all I can say good about the movie. If I had to give a one line review I would say, "Great CG in search of a movie".

Eh, the original series was termed by more than one critic as "illegal 30-minute commercial" and "lots of character pot, no plot"; did you actually expect them to change it any from there?

I saw Harry Potter yesterday too. It was OK, but still disappointing as compared to the book, which was wayyyyy better.

However, there were no Transformers in the version I saw :P

The old cartoon movie was pretty decent, if you can put up with the horrible 80's soundtrack.

The 2007 has a really terrible screenplay - almost as if there wasn't enough material to make a 2 1/2 hour movie. Which begs the question why they did...

I've heard several say that this was the best Harry Potter movie yet.

The movie was good from a cinematography, filmy kind of perspective. I just prefer the books since there is so much more interesting detail that can't be packed in to a 2 1/2 hr. movie. My fiance thought the movie was too dark and felt it lacked the subtle humor of the earlier films.

Its not that I didn't like the film, or wouldn't recommend it, but rather it wasn't as good as I hoped it would be.

Oh, I was referring only to the TV series, not the 80's movie.

For the 2007 movie, they may have used the "Spider Man" (non-animated TV series starring Nicholas Hammond--I think it had a trial run © 1978-1979) where they combined several episodes to make a feature-length movie.
