Hi everyone,

Does anybody know the process on how to change embassy after getting NOA2?

We just got our NOA2 last May 20, 2022. Our original embassy was set to Manila, Philippines. We are planning on transferring our case to Sydney since my fiancée is currently in Australia on a student visa.

How do we go about this? I believe we have to contact NVC regarding this matter. Do we call, email, or mail them? What information do they need? Do they require any proof that my fiancée is currently staying in Australia legally?

Thank you.

You must contact the new consulate, then request a transfer.  They might want proof of legal residence.

Hi Crazy Cat,

Since our case is still on the process of going to the NVC, do we contact the embassy already? According to the second bullet point of the screenshot below, if our petition is being processed at the NVC, we should contact the NVC to request transfer. However, I don't fully understand the third bullet point which is saying to contact the embassy which is opposing the second bullet point.
