Can anyone clarify whether a Ukrainian domestic ID/passport is acceptable, or is USCIS only approving forms that list an international passport? Like many others in Ukraine, my intended beneficiary has limited physical access to Ukrainian government resources right now and has only traveled to other countries which didn't require an international passport before the war started. Many European countries have since relaxed this requirement, but I can't find anything about US policy on this in general, or specifically relating to U4U.

Secondarily, if the domestic ID/passport is sufficient, how did you handle the expiration date? If not, can anyone offer advice on how she should go about obtaining an international passport under the current circumstances?

You have to specify your question - WHAT exactly is it that USCIS needs her passport/ID-information for in this case? Are you going to file a petition? Have you filed a petition? Are you talking about a visa application (if so that's not USCIS)?

If she needs a passport she could always try to get in contact with a Ukrainian embassy in another country to see if they can issue her a passport or at least some kind of temporary travel document. If there are no possibilities to do it from within Ukraine at this moment that is (which is very undetstandable if so).

Sorry, could have made it clearer, but I thought it was implied from the thread title. I'm asking about the Form I-134 and the eligibility requirement listed on USCIS website for the beneficiary: "Are a Ukrainian citizen and possess a valid Ukrainian passport (or are a child included on a parent’s passport)" https://www.uscis.gov/ukraine

Hi there -- we are also discussing this issue in this thread:

If the beneficiary you are supporting is outside Ukraine, they should contact the nearest Ukrainian embassy to try and get a Ukrainian passport for travel.
