Joint W2s and 1099

- 3 different bank statements (saving, checking and checking)

- Joint car insurance policy

- Health insurance

- Credit cards with my wife as second card holder

- Our boarding passes from the overseas trip which we took in December

- Couple of pictures of us together from our travel

House and car was owned by me before she moved to US. I can't think of anything else to add to the package.

We wont be submitting any affidavits as I don't see the point. Is there anything else to add to it?

You would get an RFE . I am sure you have plenty of additional evidence of where / how you lived , paid for things and should not rely on the fact that transactions are included in the bank statements.

For example:

lease or mortgage? Actual rent payments? ALL utilities ( electric, gas, water, internet), cell phone?

Actual car DMV registration/ title ? Auto insurance

Any car repairs/ payments , AAA card.?
Any Medical/ prescription copies ? Emergency contact info listing spouse?
Any mail ( junk or marketing) in/ to both names at shared address

Most definitely any paycheck copies for both

Purchases made together ( furniture/ computers ?? gifts)

Draw up a health care directive / POA ..example https://thrive.kaiserpermanente.org/care-near-you/northern-california/centralvalley/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2015/09/genericadvdirect_tcm28-8099.pdf

You could also print a free credit report for both of you ( they look at it anyway) …not required so your choice .
Any social media / Facebook presence screenshot  ( if you are active …again they do check those …not required so your choice)

Am sure there is much more to your life ..but try to be through and go for the Gold …meaning clear the risk based assessment at first glance with no need for interview. And so do your best to include evidence for the span of time between LPR and application.

I know you took the stance that affidavits are pointless, but I like the kitchen sink approach !

And do spend time w a Cover Letter/ Exhibits page ( bullet point or numbered w short description that include name and date of document listed)

Thanks for the input. House/car were owned before she moved in, so it's not with both of our names.

On my life insurance from work she's as my beneficiary.

I'll start preparing the forms and supporting documents tomorrow. Very anxious.

Also, I've been reading a lot of other I751 posts, and it seems that it takes up to 2 years to get it approved.

My wife's GC expires in September, how is she going to be able to leave the country in November?

We are planning to travel to Thailand since she hasn't seen her family in over 3 years. Do we need to apply for some kind of permit?

Thank you! :)

When you successfully submit an i751 form to remove conditions on her green card USCIS will send you a receipt notice that will have an extension of your expired green card up to 24 months.

You use the expired green card with the 24 month extension letter together when you travel or anytime you need to prove your continued LPR status.

If your case drags on beyond two years after your green card expires you can get an i551 stamp in your passport at your local USCIS field office.

House / car are valuable evidence, send copies ( they show shared address) and a short description, “ in x spouse name , purchased prior to marriage “

You will be fine, no reason to worry.

@Thunderbolt hi there,

if this can help. I receive my I751 notice in July 2021. I went to Italy on vacation in December 2021 and came back beginning of January 2022. When I came back here I showed the flight attendant at Milan airport my passport, expired gc, and i751 ext letter. They knew exactly what the document was. I lended in NY airport and the officer looked at my document, gc, passport, i751 stamped my passport and let me in. He asked me how long I had stayed outside the US.
If your wife receives her I751 before traveling she will be fine. She needs her expired gc, her Thai passport and her i751 ext letter.
Hope this helped
