Hello everyone.

Hope you are all well and in good spirits, even when this whole process can be frustrating.

Im moving to my parent's house at the end of the month, since my lease expires and they were so kind to offer me a rent free home  Anyways, I had my husband call USCIS to give them my new address and they told him I need to fill in form AR-11(or something like it). I looked at it, but it says for the Alien relative residing in the US, which I am not.

So when he calls again Friday(because every time I try calling, it says that this number can not be reached from my area oO), what should he say so that they actually change my address or give us the correct procedure to switch my address.

And when come the time to change his address in November, does he just call USCIS if our file hasn't reached Montreal ? Or does he have a special petition he has to fill in.

Wishing us all luck on approvals very soon. Keep on smilin' :)

Nobody is going to mail you anything until after your petition arrives at the Consulate. My suggestion is that you wait until the case clears NVC and then email and/or fax the Consulate to inform them of your new address.

They won't change your address no matter how nicely you ask them on the phone. You need to fill out an AR-11 at this point, but I agree with the previous poster, don't do it yet. Just wait til he arrives and then fill it out and mail it with your AOS package. The only things you'll get in the mail are possibly the copies of the interview appts. Nothing really critical as they will all be copies of what your alien spouse received at his home. Make sure you file a forwarding address card with the USPS like you would anyways, and they'll forward any documents you might get to your new house. Then fill out the AR-11 when he arrives in the US. You'll really only need the address change for when you start the AOS.

My impression is the OP is the foreigner. If not, please clarify.

The thing Im wonrried about is if my I-130 gets approved first, we might lean that way. If we do that, do I need to wait until USCIS sends Montreal the paperwork, which won't be for months ? Or is there anyway to let NVC that my address changed
