Just so you know, I am against vaccine mandates.

And yes, there is a similarity in a way that both vaccine mandate and abortion ban tell you what to do with your body.

However, NOT getting a vaccine is passive; nothing is required from a person who chooses to not get a vaccine. This person doesn't have to go to a clinic to not get a vaccine. And the person doesn't automatically loses the right to not get a vaccine in a period of 6-12-16 weeks. No additional measures (pills/inserts/etc) to prevent the need to not get a vaccine. So, there is no way you will not be able physically to not get a vaccine, it is always on the table. Argument can be made that the consequence of not getting a vaccine might be job loss. But it will not be possible to take an option to lose a job and still get an abortion.

I'm actually not disagreeing with you but these are different

Yet people who refused to get a vaccine recently lost their jobs, their livelihoods.  That's not very constitutional.

That's true, from the founding of this country, congress made sure slaves were not forced out of their jobs

On reflection, that’s an interesting legal theory: compelling a human being to bear a child is a form of slavery which of course is prohibited by the 13th amendment.

There is some merit to that theory.   I think any anti abortion law forces rape victims to bear children is a loser argument.

I think the FU part applies to all the elected Reps and Senators as well as all the Federal Bureaucrats in DC regardless of Party.

Can we talk about how the GOP decided against voting to figure out the baby formula issue:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/05/19/republicans-baby-formula/

If we want all babies to live don't we want all babies to actually live?

Seems like a big FU to me...

yep, I am sure the Dems put forth a clean bill with no pork at all.  Throwing money at the joke of an FDA is not really the way to fix the baby formula that the Democrats have been ignoring once last Fall.

Btw, why did the Dems not support the GOP proposal?

Stefanik, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.) and other House Republican women introduced a competing measure Wednesday called the “Babies Need More Formula Now Act” aimed at making it easier for American parents to obtain formula from abroad.

Definitely is more anti GOP Fear and Uncertainty spread by a desperate and clueless Democrat party machine.

What does sending tens of millions of dollars to the FDA accomplish other than wasting money?

In a non paywalled version of the same article I found that the House and Senate overwhelming to let WIC source more formula from more suppliers.  Concrete bipartisan action that only requires Biden’s signature.

What we should have is a $28M bill for a special prosecutor to investigate and prosecute county health officers whose orders wrecked the supply chain.  Would love to see them all in supermax prisons.

Arkansas Republican admits abortion trigger law would cause ‘heartbreak’ if Roe is reversed

The Republican governor of Arkansas, Asa Hutchinson, has admitted that an anti-abortion trigger law that he signed on to the books would lead to “heartbreaking circumstances” if Roe v Wade is overturned, in which girls as young as 11 who became pregnant through rape or incest would be forced to give birth.

Hutchinson’s remarks give a revealing insight into the twisted human and political quandaries that are certain to arise should the US supreme court, as expected, destroy the constitutional right to an abortion enshrined in Roe v Wade when it issues its ruling next month. The governor told CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday that in 2019 he had signed the Arkansas trigger law, Senate Bill 6, which would ban almost all abortions the instant Roe were reversed, even though he disagreed with its lack of exceptions for incest and rape.

The Constitution contains NO RIGHT to abortion.  Period.  Never has.

OH! TOO MANY WORDS IN THESE BILLS!!!!!

The bill the democrats were pushing seems to be about whistleblowing and making sure moms and dads don't buy contaminated or untested baby formula...

The republican bill (ps am I supposed to capitalize democrats and republicans?)... seems to be about creating more competitors and allowing people to import baby formula from overseas...

P.S Am I going to get reported for posting this in the wrong topic? I just realized there is a baby formula post here...
