If you consume alcohol or use recreational drugs, stop and try not to until you're a citizen.  Certainly do things like that at home...never in a bar, a restaurant, or a friend's house.

 

Once you're an American ("'murican", as my wife and I say to each other), you can explore your rights and privileges as a citizen.

Please, OH PLEASE, do not stop enjoying yourself at bars and restaurants and consume alcohol as you please as it is not a privilege reserved for citizens only.

06/01/2021 - day 1747 - with help of Sen. Sanders' office, I-751 file finally forwarded to St. Albans field office

06/28/2021 - day 1774 - I-751 status changed to 'New Card is Being Produced'; N400 status changed to 'Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled'

08/19/2021 - day 1826 (exactly 5 years since day 0) - Oath Ceremony (notice received on 7/19/21)

OK - let's put it another way.  Don't drink (use) and drive.  Don't provide alcohol for a minor.  Don't speed.  Don't turn right on red before stopping COMPLETELY.  Use your turn signals (indicators).

You can say “don’t break a law” and it will cover all of this.

Advising not to drink until becoming a citizen is just ridiculous.

 

Furthermore, not breaking a law is also advised even after you become a citizen. But I mean that’s just me and my common sense.

5.a.  When applying for a driver's license or renewing a driver's license, double and triple check that the DMV/RMV do not register you to vote.  Same for census forms.
